postcards and photos from the early-mid 1900s

194 Munchen. Marienplatz

Dear Father, This is the town hall on the left and you can see two men in shorts and a girl in the middle in her Bavarian frock and apron just as you see them everywhere. Wouldn’t it be lovely if people dressed like that at home - I wish all wore kilts. We went to pictures[???] tonight for the first time and saw Annie Lendra[???] and Max Schmaling[???]’s wife in a comedy. But she’s nothing but a pretty pretty little blonde and just has to look coy all the time. It cost us 90Pf each and the seats were wooden ow! 8.30 to 10.30! Professor Penhauses[???] second recital is tomorrow and I think we’ll be doing a university excursion on Saturday. We’ve had thunder and rain the last few days and haven’t been able to do much outside.
