    I’ve been enjoying your pictures of old central Europe very much, thank you. But in fact all the postcards in this section should be edited as “Eisenach”, replacing the “f” with “s”. The old German print uses the so-called “long s”, a special letter which easily can be misread for an “f”. The rule for German Gothic lettering was a “normal s” at the end of a syllable, but a “long s” at the beginning of a syllable and in combination with “t”. In normal print the “normal s” should be used for all theses cases.
